"Mr. Mercado is everything you'd ever want in a music teacher. Kind, caring, and very empathetic, he's helped me a lot not only in playing the piano, but as a friend. That's not to say that he's not just a kind soul, however. He’s an amazing music teacher and especially excellent at working with my pace. I’m extremely grateful that he is my teacher and I highly recommend him for anyone."

Your child's God-given talents are in good hands!

"JM is both instinctive and knowledgeable as a teacher and as a musician. He is very encouraging and makes his lessons fun and enjoyable for his students. That being said, he will also be honest and thoughtful, as he keeps notes on strengths, weaknesses and areas that need focus in practice and future lessons.

Our son's talent has gone a long way, and we're confident that he'll go even further with JM's tutelage!"

From a percussion student:

“Christian is an excellent teacher, he is inspiring and motivating. He taught me many valuable skills that I still use today and helped me develop my snare drumming technique. Christian taught me to play relaxed and how to approach difficult music and tricky rudiments. Above all Christian was a large reason that I started to love drumming. I marched snare drum for 2 years in high school and was a drum line captain my senior year. I am currently pursuing my dreams of marching drum corp and wgi, as well as music theory and piano.”

“There are so many wonderful things I can say about JM and Marizel Mercado as music teachers.

My daughter had gone to another voice teacher and we didn't see the results that I saw under the direction of JM and Marizel. I have watched them help my daughter come out of her shell, while nourishing her love for music. While we were going through a family loss, they were so patient and caring with her always placing her needs first.

Not only are they great teachers they are also very talented individuals. They compliment each other so well, watching them sing together is a treat.

I would highly recommend Korusleine Music Academy to anyone looking for results, while cultivating the persons appreciation for music.”

Trish Tropeano, mom of Bella Tropeano, voice and piano student

"I have known Christian for many years now and have watched him grow tremendously as a musician and as a teacher. He is very passionate about music and expresses this passion on a daily basis by being a part of the music ministry at his church, teaching percussion lessons, and playing for his university at school events. As a teacher, he makes sure to cater each lesson to the student while also keeping it engaging in order for them to learn efficiently and effectively. Overall, he is devoted to helping others hone their craft while also spreading the joy of music." ——- Demi Arellano - UT Austin, BS in Chemistry

"As a parent, I just cannot say enough about how much heart the Mercados put into instructing each of their students. It is so evident that their primary concern is their students' success and well-being. We feel so privileged that our daughter was given such confidence in her abilities, and was taught by the very best." Thank you JM & Marizel!" —- Nelia Ennis, mom of singer, songwriter Grace Ennis

"JM and Marizel Mercado are some of the most giving and talented people I have ever met. I came to them as a shy, quiet girl and I am now a confident, capable musician because of all they have taught me. They encouraged me in my songwriting and showed me that I have something to share with the world, and that is something I am forever grateful for. I am honored and blessed to have been taught by them." —— Grace Ennis, Baylor University Student, Singer/Songwriter

"With only 2 weeks of prep time for my audition at the Berklee College of Music, Christian was able to give me the practice I needed to succeed. He went over basic ear training, such as rhythmic patterns and repeating a note back to him, as well as sight-reading various keys. We first practiced rhythm, with him clapping back various rhythms and me repeating it right after. They were definitely challenging, but it helped me in the long run to test my abilities. Afterwards, he plucked notes on the piano for me to repeat back. While this was in a span of 1 day, it helped enhance my ear training with so little time. Through his help, my audition went great, and I was later accepted into Berklee. I cannot thank Christian enough." —- Denise Arellano, Fulshear High School Graduate, Berklee College of Music Student
