KORUSLEINE MUSIC ACADEMY

Welcome to Korusleine Music Academy ! We offer high quality private music lessons for kids/teens in Katy, Richmond and surrounding areas. Please read this policy in its entirety. It is designed to create fair use of our time together and can be referenced when questions arise. 

This page may be updated as we deem necessary to accommodate arising issues that we encounter along the way so we encourage you to visit this regularly.

TRIAL LESSONS:
New students may take one 30-min trial lesson before committing to weekly lessons. The price for the lesson is $35 and it will be in our home studio. Payment for your first lesson is due at that time.
 

ENROLLMENT:

If you’d like to continue and secure a weekly slot in our teacher’s schedule here’s what we will need: 

 

1. Korusleine Music Academy ON-LINE Registration. Please fill out the online form in our Registration Tab. Before you can fully register, you will have to AGREE with our Studio Policy by checking the box at the bottom of that page.

 

2. A personal check payable to Korusleine Music Academy or bank transfer w/ Zelle using korusleinemusicacademy@gmail.com which includes:

• Full tuition for the current month,
• Registration fee of $25 (per family)
• Refundable 2-lesson deposit. We will hold the deposit until you formally stop lessons (requires 30-day notice).

TUITION:
Our base tuition (in-studio and virtual for individual instruction) is inclusive of a typical 4-week month which is $140 (30 minutes) or Group Lessons for $140 (45 minutes) and our fees will be updated yearly on the 1st of August. Please visit our Lessons and Fees Tab for details.

**Lesson Pricing - To keep things easy and consistent, our prices are updated every year on the 1st of August. It has been 4 years (and counting) since we increased our prices.

This is based on the national CPI and increased costs required to deliver our great lesson programs. 
 

 

ABSENCES AND MAKE-UPS:

Make-up lessons will be offered on a month that has 5 weeks as the 5th week is free and is reserved for make-ups.  Make-up lessons on the 5th week can be done via Lessonmate or face-to-face. Make-up lessons require a 24-hr notice or it is forfeited. Should a method or schedule be not achieved by both teacher and student, that lesson is forfeited. There will be a maximum of 2 make-up lessons per semester (Fall and Spring). 

 

If there are absences that are due to illness or family emergency that warrant canceling on the day of the lesson, it will be eligible for make-up with a maximum of 1 per semester as well as eligible for a video/online make-up or face-to-face. Illnesses that require longer absences can be arranged on a case-by-case basis. If there is a teacher absence, they will offer a make-up or credit for next month’s bill. 
 

Make-up lessons will be done via Lessonmate, an online tool that we will be using to create make-up lessons complete with videos and other documents that will help the student pick up right where they left off. This tool will free up the teacher’s time that is normally lost during make-ups, and it also makes it incredibly convenient for the student to access.
 

Online Lessons:

Online lessons are a full replacement for lessons missed due to closure outside of KMA’s control. There will be no credit or refunds given instead of.

There will be NO MAKE-UPS if the student is behind in payments, no exception.
 

LATE PAYMENTS:

Tuition payments are considered late if not received by the second lesson of the month. In this case you will be charged a late fee of $10.00.
Korusleine Music Academy reserves the right to stop lessons if there is an unpaid account balance and the matter shall be turned over to a third party for resolution. 

 

TARDY ARRIVAL:

Please arrive on time for your lesson. Students arriving late will not have their lesson time extended. 

DURATION OF THE LESSON AGREEMENT/CONTRACT - ONGOING:
The lesson agreement between KMA and the student is a rolling agreement that continues into each new term and new year.

The students are emailed their invoices towards the end of each term in respect of the following term’s lessons, until a written cancelation notice is received which is described below:

 

DISCONTINUATION POLICY:

In the event that the student has decided to discontinue lessons, we require a ONE MONTH NOTICE. You will be considered a student and billed accordingly, unless a withdrawal WRITTEN notice is received.
Korusleine Music Academy reserves the right to dismiss any student at any time if any of these circumstances occur: 
 

a) Failure to pay tuition on time or completely non-payment

b) Uncooperative attitude 

c) Repeated and habitual missed lessons or rescheduling without a valid excuse
d) Extended vacation without prior notice or updates to come back
 

 

RECITALS:

We usually hold our annual recital in May or June and one in December. Recital participation is highly recommended but not required. Recital fee is $25 per student.


PHOTOGRAPHS AND SOCIAL MEDIA:
Please be aware that Korusleine Music Academy or its instructors, in addition to other families, guests or audience can take photos and videos of your child and may post them in the internet. This usage may include (but is not exclusive to) displaying publicly, distributing, or publishing, photographs and/or video of your child for use in materials that include, but may not be limited to:
                                                                                                
- printed materials (eg - brochures and newsletters)                                                           
- online and offline advertising and promotion                                                     
- videos and digital images such for use on Social Media.
                                                                                                                                                            
By signing this form, you acknowledge that you are giving unrestricted permission for your child’s image to be used in print, video, and digital media. 
 
You agree that these images may be used by KORUSLEINE MUSIC ACADEMY for a variety of purposes and that these images may be used without further notification. You do understand that any identifying information including last name and location will not be used in conjunction with any video or digital images.            

If you do not agree with this, the only option is to not allow your child to participate in the recital or any performances. 
 

HOLIDAYS, SNOW DAYS & VACATIONS:

Our enrollment is open year long. There will be make-ups provided for lessons missed due to a declared weather emergency. The teacher will call you if the lesson will be canceled. Korusleine Music Academy does not follow public school calendar but we will accommodate students if they’re away during public schools’ vacation weeks. 

 

SUMMER SCHEDULE:

Korusleine Music Academy is open for regular lessons during the summer. We highly recommend to continue lessons in the summer so there will be no gaps in your progress.

In the event that the teachers are also on vacation, this will be communicated to the parents and students in advance to arrange for a suitable resolution and will be a case by case basis. 

 

ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS    
You confirm that you have read and understood the Terms and Conditions of KORUSLEINE MUSIC ACADEMY. You are aware that there are systems and procedures in place to follow and that you may be penalized if these are neglected.
